For people who want to get a good idea of who really is to blame for the vast majority of emissions, the Guardian article you linked to in a recent anon ask has a handy interactive infographic which helps visualize how much most major corporations and countries are responsible for emissions

The visionary who established the Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario. because he understood electricity would become an essential public utility.

I’m guessing it would never even occur to him that a day would come when myopic Liberal and Conservative Ontario Governments of Ontario would work so hard to privatize everything previously owned by the public.

Privatize means selling things the public owns for good reason (like Ontario Hydro) to private interests who reap profits of infrastructure the public has invested in for the public good.  

“Fun” fact: A few hours ago, Catherine McKenna tweeted out a screencap of the NY Times article about that UN report on climate change, apparently oblivious to the fact that her own climate change plan is not even close to what Canada actually needs to do in order to avoid the worst case scenario described in it. Maybe that’s why she just tweeted out a screencap and didn’t link the article itself =/
