Guy builds a fully mechanically functioning 777 airplane from cut up manila folders.

@ceruleancynic

THIS IS INCREDIBLE LOOK AT HIS YOUTUBE CHANNEL

I just sat here mesmerized watching him work his flap actuator system for like five straight minutes, there are six perfect little tiny u-joints made of manila folders

the interior is every bit as detailed and exact as the rest of it but holy fucking shit this engineering is incredible I am having a real hard time comprehending that all of those bits in the landing gear are actually made of manila folders

look at all those tiny joints

look at all those functioning parts

HE BUILT MANILA-FOLDER THRUST REVERSERS YOU GUYS I CAN’T

“At -25C/-13F, soap bubble mixtures freeze faster than they pop, making for some very fascinating effects!”

“However, frozen bubbles are still very fragile creatures, so I’ve experimented with different recipes to create a durable bubble wall that won’t pop in the slightest breeze: dish soap for the bubbling, corn syrup to thicken the wall, and sugar to help crystallization. I let the mixture chill in the freezer to help speed up the freezing once outside.”

MIXTURE INGREDIENTS FOR YOUR EXPERIMENTING PLEASURE

- 200ml warm water
- 35ml corn syrup
- 35ml dish soap
- 2tbs sugar
- chill in the freezer

“One other piece of advice … dress warm! It’s cold out there!”

Thank you to Chris Ratzlaff for sharing his awesome experiment!

Amazing. Also, try making giant bubbles - it’s a great experiment to do with your kids to teach them the spirit of scientific investigation.

Comment on Jack Kingston, The Canadian Playboy by bobbysns

I am Jack Kingston’s youngest son and owner of all of his music as published under Wentworth Music, Socan/BMI Canada. His music is very much alive and periodically I am contacted by someone wishing to re-record something. Most recently, CNR Special was recorded by the Good Brothers. I receive royalties on his writings to this day. Sometimes, I even perform his music and have covered quite a few of his songs on two different CDs that I released. You can even find his music still available on eBay as part of a cd release compilation or even used old vinyl records. Amazing to see it there being the last release of his was some 45 years ago around 1970!
