But – My take on the events of our nation’s history, as well as the history of most nations, is that the people (referred to as indigenous), who lived here when Europeans arrived, were conquered by the arrivals. History appears to be a series of new arrivals and invasions. Conquered peoples are seldom treated well or fairly. Until invasion and war cease, conquered peoples will always suffer. Somehow humans need to stop invading, warring, and conquering.
