For a while milkweed were getting to be a pretty rare sight in Woolwich Township.  For some crazy reason it was on the Waterloo Region list of “noxious weeds.”  I’m guessing because the seed fluffs are “messy”.

But then somebody realized if we want Monarch butterflies to pass through, we had better stop eradicating their main staple food.  Since then, they’ve been increasing in the area.

Yay.

Here’s his Twitter Thread on being plagiarized by Jill Abramson

I find is particularly offensive that a powerful privileged person like Ms Abramson would so to his personal website and literally steal his words.

People who believe in copyright think copying someone else’s words is stealing them,  I don’t think it is, because the words are still theirs.

Plagiarism, on the other hand, really is stealing someone else’s words.  When a plagiarist steals their words, she also erases their author by this appropriation. As a writer, I can tell you it doesn’t get much more heinous than this.

And I agree with Mr Frisch: if you’re going to buy a book, buy his, not hers.

Of course, if you’ve already bought and paid for hers, here’s an idea: when you’re done with it, give it to someone who would be buying their own copy.  And maybe when they’re done with it, they can pass it to someone else, and hopefully deny her more sales.

Because I don’t believe this is a one time thing; I think she’s a serial plagiarist, as suggested by this article by Cory Robin written a year ago: Did Jill Abramson Plagiarize Ian Milhiser?

Plagiarism shouldn’t be rewarded.
